Woodsplint Basket
.....Soft Blue Paint

Probably Northeast, or Mid-Atlantic, ca. last quarter, 19th century.
Unusual and very appealing double-wrap on the rim, fixed handle, joinery with cut nails (may also have round-heads mixed in). Old, very dry soft blue with overall wear.

Very well made, surprisingly weighty. The stout, steam-bent handle extends down the sides and underneath, providing strength.

Excellent condition with one trivial break. About 12 inches to the top of the handle, 7 to the rim; diameter at the rim about 10 1/4 inches, at the base 9 inches.
